iPhone 4 Recalls

If anyone has been paying attention, hundred of thousands of iPhone 4G phones have been recalled. This is the first time iPhones have been massively recalled. And you know what? I think that this marks a huge downgrade in Apple's quality of service. Instead of focusing on the product, they're now focusing on getting products out to consumers.

In other words, they're more hungry. That is why the iPhone 4 has been recalled.

Put blatantly, Apple is suffering from disease called "A Huge Corporation Who Could Care LEss As Long As WE Profit." For an example, see Microsoft and it's recent update to discontinue servicing Operating Systems more than 10 years old.

But I digress, before I end up in a tangent I'll stop here. So what do you guys think about the iPhone 4 Recalls?

Yours truly,
Sam

Peggy West says Arizona Doesn't Border Mexico

I just found this incredible piece of news showing that American politicians.. Well, shouldn't truly be in charge of anything if they can't at least pass a basic geography course.

AMERICAN POLITICIANS are in news mostly for their laws and policies but recently some of them have been booked by media for negative reasons. In an ignorant and stupid projection of her understanding of her periphery, about Arizona’s Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhods Act (SB1070), Peggy West a county supervisor from Milwaukee WI, states in part, “If this were Texas a state that borders Mexico I would have to look twice at this, but it’s Arizona, a state that is removed from the border…”

To add some spice to her great understanding, her Facebook profile lists ‘Mexican History’ as one of her interests! The interest has since then been removed.

In an interview afterwards, Peggy West, Milwaukee WI county supervisor, tried to claim that she "misspoke". But that can’t be believed as the Peggy West videos that are available on net tell a different story. There are a lot of sites that are circulating Peggy West pictures and videos of her giving that speech.

It is really a cause of concern the Peggy West is making decisions that impact on the taxes that many of us in Milwaukee County pay. And more to that eight of the members of the County Board agreed with her when she said that Arizona doesn't share a border with Mexico.

Can you simply believe that not only Ms. West said Mexico wasn't directly bordering Arizona, but that eight of her county board's members agreed with her? I know how to feel about this one and it certainly isn't at all happy.

Of course, this also comes on the same day as the big financial reform bill finally gets a compromise. Beautiful America, beautiful.

Sigh.

Sam.

The Death of a Hero

After some time thinking, I have come to the conclusion that the death of a hero is the most tragic thing that could happen in a story. This device is most effective in stories with many characters, for reason I will elaborate upon a little later.

The death of a hero means an immediate halt to what the hero stood for. So what does a hero stand for? Hope, good and all that is just in the world. That is why their death is one of the most tragic events that could occur. Without one of the aforementioned elements of hope, goodness, or justice, you end up with stagnation where the only release is death. (Quite ironic if you think about it.)

In a story with many characters, only the loss with the death of one character is the loss of what that character stood for. Generally, another character will manifest the continuance of these qualities. This allows for a continuance of the deceased hero's ambitions and therefore allows for a hero to "live in death."

This lead me to my final point, the death of a hero is the event where "rebirth" occurs for other character by manifesting new qualities that were not apparent before. I truly believe that this is what a "phoenix rising form the ashes" is also meant to signify.

House/Senate Deal on Financial Reform

I think it's great that the house and senate finally found a compromise for the financial reform deal. Banks have been in total control of the entire country's assets for much, much too long!

The best thing to come out of this is the newly-instituted Volcker rule. It puts a limit on proprietary trading, in other words the type of trading that only benefits banks instead of their clients.

I will say that it's rather amusing that banks have now become more "consumer-centric" because of this rule. I can't wait to see what kind of loopholes banks exploit to get around this, though.

Transformers: War for Cybertron

I just bought Transformers: The War for Cybertron for PC and I have to say it's an average games. It's not outstanding because there is a load of issues with it.

You can't change the controls on PC, you the graphics options aren't great when on maximum settings and it seems more like a movie than a game.

I actually nejoyed the N64 Transformers game a bit more than this, but I'm not complaining. IT's something fun, at least. The whole "Dark Energon" thing is kind of... Eh... Far-fetched.

Hi everyone!

Hi everyone, this is Sam's blog (duh, since SAM is in the title) with random junk and stuff I find or think about! Feel free to enjoy and repost as you see fit. :D

On an offnote, can you believe how Obama's moratorium on Deep Sea Oil mining was stopped by a judge? That's complete and total cruuuudd! I couldn't believe it when I first read about it on the internet.

Something seriously needs to be done. I mean, look at all the oil killing those poor critters in the ocean. :(

Until my next post,
Sam
